CUBIC GREY HOUSE

Designed by Stylus Architects and influenced by Cubism, the Cubic Grey House introduces cantilevered metal and glass boxes. These boxes punch through the monolithic grey brick façade on the first floor, this form is also reflected on the ground floor.

The metal fins have been kept extremely thin to give the cantilevered cubes a light appearance. To make the most of the views and terrace areas, the living accommodation has been spread over two floors. The building is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and as a response to its surroundings, has a horizontal emphasis which in turn keeps the mass of the structure well below the tree canopy line.
