STEPPED GARDEN HOUSE

The aim of this project was to restore and transform a run-down 1930’s property into a modern home, while being respectful to the buildings original character and surrounding area.

The client was on a tight budget so cleaver resourceful design was required. Stylus Architects had to be innovative to create interesting spaces without exceeding the budget. This was largely achieved through the use of reclaimed materials from the existing house which bought new energy to old bones.

The rubble created from the demo was re-used in the floor construction. Reclaimed bricks were salvaged from the demolition work to create softer touches inside. This resulted in the creation of a transitional home which is both modern while keeping connected with its more traditional past.
