OCTOGEN ROTUNDA

Stylus Architects were appointed by the client to explore a complete facelift of the property, including a full refurbishment, loft conversion and orangery to replace the dated plastic conservatory.

The orangery is the jewel in the crown of this project. The repetition of the octagonal form is evident both inside and out. The octagonal zinc roof including an octagonally cloned lantern is reflected in the vaulted ceiling below, through the expressed timber structure. This is further carried down into the glazed elements and window seating. The form is mirrored with a central octagonal floor tile centered on the octagonal lantern above. It is a highly complex form which is geometrically pleasing, creating a tranquil environment from which you can survey the views of the garden.
